Vented &
Un-Vented
We understand that homes are designed differently and customers have personal preferences in relation to their hot water cylinders – so we install, maintain and repair both vented and unvented cylinders.
Hot Water
on Tap
An un-vented hot water cylinder is a water tank which holds heated water under extreme pressure, emitting it when a hot water tap or appliance is opened, providing instant hot water.
Hot Water
Cylinders
Un-vented hot water cylinders have seen huge growth in the UK since they were introduced a little over 30 years ago.
Unlike vented systems, unvented hot water cylinders do not require a cold water tank and so save domestic customers space within their homes. The sealed cylinder is fed directly from the cold mains, and since the mains water enters under high pressure, the flow rates and consistency from an unvented cylinder are often more reliable.
Our certified engineersare qualified to install and service Vented and Un-Vented hot water cylinders so please ask us about the benefits and practicalities if you are considering a new cylinder.

What is an Un-Vented Cylinder
Un-Vented hot water cylinders are a popular choice in homes with more than one bathroom where multiple appliances could be in use at any one time and the flow rate is maintained for all of them.
Unvented cylinders are typically found in new build homes and are popular when people refurbish bathrooms or add new features requiring high powered water jets. They can also be found in a lot of hotels, offices and schools.

What is a Vented Cylinder
Vented hot water cylinders, on the other hand, are cheaper to install as they do not require as many safety features.
They are fed by gravity and take water from a large cold water tank, usually housed in the loft or roof space of a building.
A vented hot water system is not at mains water pressure – rather the water pressure is determined by how high above the vented hot water cylinder the cold water tank is.
We install, service and repair vented cylinders for customers in homes across Berkshire and beyond.
