Boiler Installation Tilehurst

I was initially called out to Pete’s house in Tilehurst to diagnose a problem with his 15-year-old boiler. The boiler in question was an old Glowworm model rebranded by British Gas. It was not firing up. The boiler was clogged, so I completed a power flush to temporarily rectify the problem. However, a couple of weeks later, the boiler encountered a new error and started randomly switching itself on and off. This is where I strongly recommend the annual servicing of gas boilers.

I presented Pete with various new boilers to suit the size of his house and the number of radiators. He chose an ATAG boiler, which came with an 18-year guarantee for just £200 more than the alternatives that had 10-year guarantees. Pete also signed up for annual servicing, stating, “Having no heating or hot water was not fun in the run-up to Christmas.”

I installed the new boiler within a day and submitted the necessary paperwork to ATAG to register it and submit the guarantee. As usual, I tidied up after myself and disposed of his old boiler.

Pete now has a fully functional boiler that is one of the most efficient in Europe. He has provided me with feedback that the boiler is working great and is much quieter than the old one. He is also very happy that he can control the boiler via his mobile phone. Pete mentioned that turning down the heating and water while away from home has saved him money on his gas bills. I installed the Hive heating and hot water app for him, including connecting the app to his Wi-Fi and registering it with Hive’s control centre.
